Last friday was my first time experiencing STOMP! I can honestly say I had a great time. When we arrived the place was packed like the MonteVista parking lot on the 1st day of school.

We were greeted by a kind girl who told us that the wait was about half & hour and that we could sit outside by the fireplace and have a glass of wine. My wife doesn’t like the cold but some how I convinced here to give it a shot. I’m pretty sure  that I will have to re pay her for her compromise.  While outside the manager came out to recommend some wines. We trusted his judgement and he delivered the goods. Before he could bring out our wine we were told a table was ready. I like a place that under promises and over delivers.

We were moved inside  and waiting at our table was the bottle of wine we ordered. Now this is where I might be a little biased. I love to eat small plates. And I also love duck. I ordered the duck salami, smoked duck breast , a cheese from Oregon and a baked cheese dish. I was in heaven. We enjoyed our bottle of wine and I ate all the duck by myself. My wife isn’t a duck fan.

Overall I would go to STOMP! again. Its a cool place to grab a glass of wine with a friend or significant other. Its very cozy and intimate. STOMP! is like a hole in the wall wine bar in SOHO or even SOMA. I wouldn’t recommend dining if you are looking for a hearty piece of beef. This is all about lil small plates that go well with wine.
